Bangalore, Sep 3: The state government has formed Karnataka Knowledge Commission, aimed at advising the government on issues relating to reforming the education sector. Renowned scientist, former ISRO chairman and Rajya Sabha member Kasturi Rangan has been made the chairman of the commission. Rangan also heads the National Institute of Advanced Studies.
Dr M K Sridhar from Canara Bank Institute of Management, Gulbarga University retired vice chancellor Dr Cutinho, Dr Nayan Tara of Bangalore Institute of Management, Dr Nagaratna of Bangalore Vivekananda Yuva Kendra and Dr Ramachandra Bhat Kotemane of Janaseva Trust have been nominated as the commission members.
Vice chancellors of all the universities in the state in addition to chief secretaries of a few state departments have been made the ex-officio members of the commission.
The chief secretary of the higher education department will be the convenor of the commission, a release informed.
