Udupi, Sep 2: Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) divisional office is in the forefront among the rural divisions with over 3 lac new policyholders, premium amounting to nearly Rs 313 crore besides the claim disbursement to the tune of Rs 171.53 crore, said LIC senior divisional officer Uma Rao, at a press conference on Monday September 1 morning.
The Udupi divisional office is aiming at increasing its existing 3 lac policyholders to 5 lac during 2008 – 09, thereby providing various life cover schemes to wide section of society, said Uma Rao.
Satellite offices are being launched across the country with an aim to provide better access to its policyholders. The satellite offices are attached to the respective parent branches to give better services to the policyholders. Processing of new proposals and collection of renewal premium are the chief functions of these offices, she added.
The satellite office of Sullia in Dakshina Kannada (DK) district will be inaugurated on Wednesday September 20.
Marketing manager Gurumurty, divisional manager Sitaram R Bhat, were also present at the press conference.
