Mangaluru, Apr 17: Tulu Movie 'Pettkammi' which was in news for its uniquely designed poster is back in news yet again. A video song 'Dennana Dennana' released on YouTube from the film is garnering excellent response. Dedicated to Tulunadu and Tuluvas, the song has been shot outstandingly.

'Pettkammi' is directed by Manjunath B L (Keerthi) and produced by Ashok Shetty and Sunil Shetty under the banner Malgudi Talkies and & Day Dream Creations. The song 'Dennana Dennana' is sung by Tejas M S and Asha Bhat, lyrics are written by Sandeep V Acharya, and music has been composed by Richard and Tejas.

The Tulu traditional song explores the beauty of coastal region. The song comprises Tulu folk arts like Yakshgana, Kola, Mosaru Kudike on the occasion of Sri Krishna Janmashtami, planting paddy saplings, Nagamandala, Our Lady of Fatima Church, Perampalli , Karkala, coastal delicacies and many other things. Tourism places in Udupi are also highlighted in the song.

'Dennana Dennana' gives the viewer goose bumps as it touches the hearts giving an awesome feel of the coastal region.

Film producer Ashok Shetty speaking to Daijiworld said, “The song is dedicated to Tulunadu and through it we request people to save our rich culture. It focuses not only on diverse culture, but also on places of tourism. The young generation does not believe in ancient traditions. There are a lot of historical places in Tulunadu, but none of them are explored. ‘Pettkammi’ has made an attempt to showcase the culture of the land and how one must not forget it.

“With many occasions captured, the final result looks natural. The song has been shot over a period of 3-4 months to get the shots real and natural. The main purpose of the song is to make one feel proud about their culture. We visualized the song keeping a point in mind that one who watches the song will drop his plans of leaving the country,” he said.

The song has received more than 17,000 views on YouTube, in just four days and also receiving proud comments. The quality of video has been praised by viewers.

‘Pettkammi’ is a package of comedy, thrill, suspense, love, entertainment, culture, and family sentiments. An emotional message is conveyed at the end of the film.

“The audience always loves films with good content. The total budget of the film is about Rs 50 lac. The film is expected to release in the first week of May. We have provided opportunities to young talents and new artistes. We were not sure of the response of public, but after the teaser got released, we are much confident,” said Ashok.

The shooting of the film took place in and around Udupi city, Mangaluru and Hebri. The film is expected to create a new bench mark in the Tulu film industry. The makers have huge expectations from the film. A team of technicians have put their heart and soul in making the movie and the songs.
