Mangalore, Sep 1: Catholic Sabha Bendore and St Sebastian Parish organized an awareness programme about Mangalore Special Economic Zone and Petroleum, Chemical and Petrochemical Investment Region (PCPIR) proposed to be set up in the twin districts, at 4.15 pm on August 31, at St Agnes Auditorium.
The programme began with a hymn. Catholic Sabha president Jossy D'Cunha welcomed the gathering. Fr Vinod Mascarenhas, OFM Cap., member of Karavali Karnataka Janabhivriddhi Vedike, was the resource person. Catholic Sabha spiritual director Fr Peter Noronha inaugurated the programme, by lighting a lamp, followed by Catholic Sabha president, secretary and episcopal city deanery dean Fr Peter Noronha delivering address on MSEZ, PCPIR. He wished Catholic Sabha all success in its endeavours in creating awareness about various social issues.
Resource person Fr Vinod Mascarenhas gave a detailed talk on MSEZ and PCPIR. After the talk, there was a question and answer session on the topic. Members of Karavali Karnataka Janabhivriddhi Vedike Natesh and Vidya Dinker answered the questions. Mariottee Sequeira, ex-president of Catholic Sabha Central Committee also answered some of the queries.
Vote of thanks was proposed by Catholic Sabha secretary Leena Mascarenhas. The Programme was attended by a large number of people. Kishore Fernandes compered the programme.
