Mangalore, Sep 1: Powerful storyline, creative direction and apt acting were the main features of Percy Urwa's tulu drama `Circus', which was staged at the Town Hall, Mangalore for the first time on Sunday, August 31. When most of the main stream tulu dramas are woven around comedy skits these days, the genuine efforts and courage of the playwright of this drama deserve to be applauded, for offering the tulu stage a very good theatrical presentation.
Directed by Sudhirraj Urwa, the drama is produced by Enkululla Kalavider, Mangalore. There will be two more shows on Monday September 1 and Tuesday September 2 at the same venue.
The casting of the drama comprises of actors like Suresh Kottari Ira, Sunita, Arun Mulihitlu, Indira, Tilakraj Ullal, Jayashree, Ashok Shetty Amblamogaru, Taranath Urwa and Harsha.
Earlier, the play was inaugurated by lighting the lamp during a small stage ceremony, which preceded the show. Ramanath M, Radhakrishna Mandira, Urwa, Henry D'Souza, director, Prestige Beverages, Dubai, Umesh salian, member, Kerala Tulu Akademi, Santhosh Shetty, film actor, A V Jairaj, film director, actor Umesh Alake, Percy Urwa. playwright of Circus amd Sudhirraj, director, Circus besides Suresh Mangalore, actor were present on the dais.
Umesh salian released the audio CD of the songs of the drama `circus'.
