Mangalore, Aug 30: MP and state president of BJP D V Sadanand Gowda feels that the recent incidents of violence in the district are the handiwork of anti-national elements.
He was interacting with the media, after holding a meeting with the district administration officials at the Circuit House in the city on Friday August 29. Gowda said that he has asked the officials to take strong measures against the elements bent upon dividing the society.
Gowda said that those forces out to disturb the peaceful social fabric of the society, were trying to create tension. Policemen have been asked to investigate into all these cases without paying heed to political interferences if any, he added.
The district administration has been asked to submit a report on the incidents. The government will study the report and take necessary action, he stated.
Deputy commissioner M Maheshwar Rao said that vigilance in the district will be strengthened in the coming days, because of he line up of various festivals like Ganesh Chaturti, Ramzan, Diwali etc., Superintendent of police Satheesh Kumar informed that a peace committee meeting will be convened, to see that such incidents do not recur in the district. Reasons for the attacks have been found out and the culprits will be nabbed soon, he said. The tailor in Bantwal was attacked because of financial disputes and the attack near Ambedkar Circle in the city was because of an old rivalry between two groups, he said.
