Mumbai, Apr 9: Support of Billavara Association social worker, veteran hotelier in the city, Narsappa S Salian (86) passed away on Saturday, April 7 morning at his residence at Colaba Cuffe Parade here.
Salian hailed from Hejamady Nadikudru, Mulki and was the proprietor of Fort Central and Bharath Excellency Hotels. He was always in the forefront in social, educational and cultural sectors and served in various ways. He had also helped in the renovation of Nadikudru temple.
Narsappa Salian was honored in the 85th founder’s day celebrations of Billavara Association. He was very devoted to Ambika Annapoorneshwari Amma, Sunkadakatte, Mahalaxmi east Saath Rasthe here and Narayana guru. He was close to late Niranjana Swamy. While developing his business through hard work, he had stressed on education related services.
He is survived by Bharath Cooperative Bank limited senior director Pushpalatha N Salian, sons Sooraj, Sudesh, Sharath and a large number of friends and relatives. His family sources informed that his last rites will be held at Colaba crematorium on Sunday morning, April 8 at 10 am.
