Mangalore, Aug 27: Dakshina Kannada district in-charge minister Krishna J Palemar has exuded confidence that the concreting of K S Rao road will be completed soon and traffic will be allowed on the road from September 15 onwards.
During the inspection of the concreting road in the city on Tuesday August 26, he said that the BJP which is ruling the state and the local city corporation has been completing projects well ahead of time. As of now 65% of the K S Rao road concreting work has been completed. Although it was targeted to complete this work within two months, hopes are ripe that it will be completed within a month, a record considering that the previous administrations had taken over a year for concreting roads, he claimed.
"Although rains disturbed the plans, we have caught up by giving additional thrust to the road work. We will try to convert most of the city roads into four lanes. We are aware, that people are made to face lot of inconveniences due to the taking up of several concreting works at a time," the minister said. He has requested the people to bear with the problems for the next 15 days before the road is opened for traffic.
