Top Dubai security official tears into Pakistanis, says Gulf communities under threat

Dubai, Apr 4 (Zee News): Highlighting a recent increase in the number of Pakistanis peddling drugs into Dubai, a high-ranking Emirati security official has said that members of the Gulf communities are under serious threat.

Security officials in Dubai have reportedly uncovered several drug rackets either being operated within Dubai or which target people in the city at large from headquarters elsewhere. The role of Pakistanis in trafficking drugs is believed to be alarmingly high, prompting Lt Gen Dhahi Khalfan - head of general security in Dubai - to issue a stern warning on Twitter. "The Pakistanis pose a serious threat to the Gulf communities for the drugs they bring with them to our countries," he wrote in Arabic on Twitter, adding a photo of three Pakistanis and the drugs they were allegedly trafficking.

Local media reports say that Lt Gen Khalfan has also urged people in Dubai not to employ Pakistanis, going to the extent of saying it is a 'national duty to stop hiring them.'A website called uaeviral.com even quoted him as saying that while Indians are disciplined, Pakistanis coming into Dubai are prone to crime and smuggling. This statement though could not be independently verified.

Nonetheless, what Lt Gen Khalfan himself has put on social media has angered many in Pakistan. The official has been accused of rampant generalisation and also slammed for calling for a greater level of inspection of Pakistanis in UAE.

To some extent they are right saying about Paks. Many of them are uneducated and to meet their expenses and Pair fast geld they choose drug peddling. This drug problem is everywhere in other countrys too. There are here too many illegal paks ,or as asyls.Dont have proper jobs.so survive with small jobs.either in hotels or trying to get a local girl to marry for visa purpose.(even with money)Later once visa is issued divorce. Now officials too have learnt.so that they come to check if they really live together .When compares ,many Africans are there than paks. One way pitiable.

Yes they are the part of Ummah...so what..?? if they are wrong...they are wrong...its as simple as that!!

UAE being a part of the same Ummah, has the courage to confront them and say correct your mistakes.

Don't make fun of those who work hard to earn their livelihood. it doesn't matter if they make roti or covered with maida. Finally one day we all will be six feet under the ground covered with mud!!!

Substance abuse is a major problem among the GCC populations. The contrabands arrive unabated, and affect all classes of the society. Both males and females are affected.

I could provide some details, but my comment may not be approved for publication.

The matter is so serious that it is likely that the capital punishment might be introduced for carriers of such substances to increase deterrence .

Most of the Paki are uneducated and they dont have other options than get into illegal business or petty jobs. Some brotherhood countries to come forward for providing the quality education for these pakis.

This official is correct to some extent. However he should not pin point all. Its shame that Pakis are in drug business and other crimes. May Allah bless them with right way of thinking and bring them on right path.
