Sharjah, Apr 1: More clinics and pharmacies are at various stages of development at multiple locations in Dubai and the city here, in addition to the teaching hospital, rehabilitation center and dental hospital opening in Al Jurf - Ajman shortly, as part of the group’s strategic plans.
Thumbay group’s healthcare division opened a new Thumbay Clinic in Kalba, here on March 29, expanding its growing network of family clinics in the UAE. A Thumbay pharmacy outlet under the group’s retail division was also opened adjacent to the new clinic.
Dr Thumbay Moideen, founder president of Thumbay group was the chief guest of the opening function. Also present were Akbar Moideen Thumbay - vice president of the healthcare division of Thumbay group, and other members of Thumbay group board.

The clinic will provide a range of specialist services to the community, consolidating Thumbay clinics’ reputation as a popular chain of family clinics,” said Akbar Moideen Thumbay.
Dr Thumbay Moideen said that the new clinic and pharmacy where the latest additions as part of Thumbay group’s global expansion plans, aiming to scale up the businesses at least ten times, establishing global presence and increasing the employee strength to 25,000 in the next four to five years. “The Thumbay academic hospital network will have a total of 1000 beds in the UAE, 1500 beds in India and 750 beds elsewhere in the Gulf and Africa by 2022, in addition to upcoming clinics, day care hospitals, labs and pharmacies at various locations,” he said, elaborating on the plans for the healthcare division.
The group plans to open at least six more clinics and several more pharmacies, as part of the expansion plans this year. Clinics and pharmacies are at various stages of development in locations including Deira Waterfront, Dragon Mart and Bur Dubai in Dubai and Abu Shagaraand Rahmaniya Mall in Sharjah. This is in addition to the new projects coming up on the Gulf Medical University campus at Al Jurf, Ajman, the 500-bed Thumbay Hospital – the biggest private academic hospital in the region, Thumbay Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Centre - an advanced rehabilitation center and Thumbay Dental Hospital – a 60-chair dental hospital in Al Jurf - Ajman, scheduled to be operational under the healthcare division in the next few months.
Centrally located at Kalba on Al Wahda Street, the new clinic has specialized doctors in Obstetrics & Gynecology, Dental, General Medicine and X – ray, complete with laboratory services. The clinic will be open from 8 am to 11 pm Saturday to Thursday, and 9 am to 12 pm and 5 pm to 10 pm, on Fridays. The new Thumbay Pharmacy offering the complete range of medical equipment and rehabilitation care products is located next to the clinic.
To celebrate the opening, Thumbay Clinic – Kalba will offer visitors free consultation with specialized doctors, as well as free blood sugar, blood pressure and BMI checkups until 15th April 2018.
