Mangalore, Aug 24: The Taluk Re-organization Panel comprising of M B Prakash, Chiranjeevi Singh and H K Shivanand will be undertaking a two day tour of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts from Tuesday, August 26. It may be recalled, that Kadaba, Nellyadi and Moodbidri are vying to become taluks and in all probability Kadaba will become the taluk headquarter, edging past Nellyadi. Brahmavar in Udupi taluk too is hoping to become a taluk soon.
A press release said, that the panel will arrive here on Monday, August 25 and will visit Kadaba in Puttur taluk on Tuesday, where it will conduict a hearing at Kadaba gram panchayat office. The committee will then proceed to Nellyadi where it will participate in a hearing at 1 pm. After returning back to the city in the afternoon, it will hold a meeting at the meeting hall of the deputy commissioner's(DC) office with the elected representatives, members of the public and representatives of organizations, at 4 pm. It will then discuss with the DC and other officials at 5.30 pm.
On Wednesday August 27, the panel members will interact with the people at a public meeting to be held at Moodbidri town municipal hall at 9.30 am. It will then hear views of the people at Mulky town panchayat office at 11.30 am. The panel will then proceed to Udupi, where it will hold a meeting with peoples' representatives and organizations at the deputy commissioner's office there, at 1 pm.
