Mangalore, Aug 23: The two drugged passengers of Matsyagandha Express train that arrived in the city from Mumbai on Wednesday August 20 in an unconscious state have been recovering. They have also given their statements to the policemen.
Chandra Naik from Karkala and Narayanan from Udinoor, Kasargod informed the police, that two strangers started conversing with them when the train was near Madgaon railway station. The twosome then served the liquor they were carrying to us and robbed us, they claimed.
Chandra Naik was relieved of cash amounting to about Rs 700 in addition to clothes, while Narayanan lost Rs 3,000 in cash apart from wrist watch he was wearing. The unsuspecting duo which works in a Mumbai hotel was on a visit of their native place, when the robbers deceived them. They continue to be treated as in-patients at the district Wenlock hospital here, and are recovering slowly.
