Vasco, Feb 26 (TOI): A fire broke out in a fishing shed at Khariawada, Vasco, on Sunday afternoon. Four fishing nets were gutted. The loss is estimated to be around Rs 5lakh.
The incident occurred around 2.30pm. Workers were working in the shed and the nets were spread out.
Though the cause of the fire is not yet known, it is suspected that the fire started when a running motor of a canoe gave off sparks.
Fire tenders that were pressed into service doused the fire and managed to save property worth Rs 5lakh.
