Oman, Feb 23: The Indian community in the Sultanate of Oman has been a major contributor in the development of the country. Right from semi skilled labor to top businessmen creating large stakeholder value, Indians have been at the forefront all the way. More importantly, the Indian mission in Oman has been very co-operative in giving great support to the community at large. The visit of Prime Minsiter Narendra Modi and his foreign diplomacy gives the community that extra filip to go out and perform better making India stand proud and high.
One such initiative taken by a young India architect brought up in Oman has gained a lot of interest. The unique idea of converting a land into a hospitality destination of niche was launched recently coinciding with the prime minister’s visit to Oman. ‘Nujum Al Ard’ which means ‘Stars of Earth’, the niche project which will redefine destination hospitality in a great way, was launched at Grand Hyatt, Muscat, where Indian embassy officials, various businessmen from Oman and India attended the event.
Commenting on the launch, Dinakar Sankaran, the chief architect of the ‘Nujum Al Ard’ said, “The idea is to give an experience of staying in structures and shapes that you may have dreamt of under the canopy of stars. Whish in short mean hospitality at its highest opulence exuberance. The project will have 80 such shapes rather rooms and will be promoted as a destination for the greatest moments of life.”
“The ‘Stars of Earth’is located in Musandam Governate of Sultanate of Oman and is admeasuring over 6,500 sq mtrs. The financing model of the project is a hybrid across equity, hedge and long term debt which will be availed on a phased manner. There will also be an opportunity to create individual rooms and asset for investments by High net worth individuals who will participate by invitation and pre-qualification,” said Ramanada Prabhu, financial advisor, ‘Nujum Al Ard’. As there will be lot of new investment opportunities, due to the recent announcement of opening ‘The Khasad-Bandar Abbas marine route, Musandam will be new business hub between Sultanate and East Asia, Prabhu further added.
“In line with the direction of his Sultan Qaboos bin Said, tourism sector is one of the key drivers of the Oman economic diversification action plan of Tanfeedh, I am delighted to work on this as this project will create 500 direct and indirect employment opportunities and also it will enhance the economic development in the governorate of Musandam,” said Mohammed Ghulam Al Balushi, who is the project sponsor of ‘Nujum Al Ard’.
