Mumbai, Feb 21: The east zonal committee of Thiya Samaja celebrated its tenth anniversary at Narayana guru auditorium of Billavara Bhavan, Santacruz east on Sunday afternoon, February 18.

President of the committee of trustees, Rohidas Bangera, chief guest lit the lamp and inaugurated the programme.

Kannada Sangha Santacruz president L V Ameen, Ganiga Samaja Seva Sanga, Mumbai president Kutpadi Ramachandra M Ganiga, Yakshamanasa Mumbai president Shekar R Shetty, Heggade Seva Sangha Mumbai president Vittal B Heggade, Ramaraja Kshatriya Seva Sangha Mumbai president Rajkumar Karnad, Bhandary Seva Sangha Mumbai president advocate Shekar S Bhandary, Bharath Bank director Chandrashekar S Poojary and entrepreneur K V Shanker Varier were present as guests of honour.

Padmanabha Suvarna sang a prayer song. Honorary chief secretary Ishwar M Ail welcomed the gathering and compered the programme. Various office bearers presented flower bouquets to the guests and honoured them. East zone regional committee chief secretary Sagar Kateel delivered the keynote address and thanked everyone.

Community members and children presented cultural programme, dances and entertainment in the direction of Thiya Samaja cultural committee. Saptaswara cultural association Mumbai artistes performed a Tulu comedy drama 'Yamuna dane Namune' written by late Dinesh Kankanady and directed by Bhasker Sasihitlu under the leadership of Manohar Nandalike. Harsha Chandrashekar Belchada compered the cultural programme.
