Abu Dhabi, Feb 11: The Sahebaan community, hailing from the districts of DK and Udupi organized a family day with fun and games for its members at Al Wathba Park on February 9.
This event turned out to be a success as it had over 300 members of various age groups from all over UAE participating in the different activities of the day with great enthusiasm and excitement.
Ajmal Jamal first welcomed the families and guests with a brief explanation of the activities for the day ensuring each other's safety and the cleanliness of the surroundings.
A wide variety of games were organized to ensure maximum enjoyment amongst the men, women and children of the community separately. The guests were split into different teams for these games with the idea of accumulating points throughout the day to get a winning team at the end.
A game of dodge ball was used as an icebreaker to start of the day. The men were then engaged in games such as bombing the city, dizzy relay, Tug of war etc. While the women enjoyed Hoola Hoop, Passing the ball, bursting the balloon, ad act etc. The children below the age of 10 also had fun playing lemon and spoon, sack race, running race etc. The games were enjoyed by all with active participation with great enjoyment and active participation.
The event was conducted efficiently by Saleem Baji, Ajmal Jamal, Faizan Khateeb, Sheikh Haneef, Saleem Sheik, Sheik Saleem Saheb, Wajid Nouman, Mohammed Kasim, Mohammed Jabir and Rafiq Ahmed.
Under the guidance and direction of Mohammed Akram, Mohammed Asif, Althaf Khateeb, Yunus Sheik and Mohammed Ansar kundapur , Suhail Kudroli. Volunteers such as Nayeem Baji, Sahal Baji and young sahebaans assisted the team in conduction the event.
Sahara Mohammed Asif, Raziya Althaf Khateeb, Anisa Younus Shiek, Hiba Faizan Khateeb, Anouska Mohammed Shoaib, Safiya Haneef, Mubeena Rafq and Menaz Nazir coordinated and conducted the ladies activities.
The guests then enjoyed a sumptuous lunch served by Indian Palace Restaurant (Sharjah). Breakfast and evening snacks were catered by Cochin Restaurant (Mussafa, Abu Dhabi). The sound system was provided by of Broadway Music System, Abu Dhabi.
Najmuddin Assadi was felicitated and honoured during the event for his service to the community and his contributions and efforts taken to form the Sahebaans in Abu Dhabi.
The day then concluded with a round of prize distribution for the winners of the games and a lucky draw. The crowd went home with fun and happy memories.
