Mumbai: Kannada Sangha holds 454th devotional festival of Purandaradasa

Mumbai, Feb 6: Kannada Sangha here on Sunday February 4 held the 454th devotional festival of Purandaradasa and devotional singing competition at Mysore Association mini hall, Matunga.

President of the sangha G S Nayak chaired the programme. Bhanumathi Suvarna, Reshma Ganapathi Shanker Linga and Amritha Tambe, judges of the competitions lit the lamp and inaugurated the programme. Honorary secretary Sathish N Bangera, joint secretary Somnath S Karkera, S K Padmanabh, Narayana A R Rao, Rajendra Gadiar, Anusooya Kamath and Malati V Acharya conducted the competitions. More than 40 multilingual musicians in the city took part in the singing competitions.



In the hall programme held in the evening, Thia Samaja Mumbai president Chandrashekar R Belchada was present. Programme co-sponsors H S Adoor, Purushotham V S Prafulla S Urval, distributed prizes to the representatives and winners from Kannada and cultural division Bengaluru, Bharath Bank, Saraswathi Bank and congratulated them.

Vice president of the Sangha, Dr S K Bhavani welcomed everyone. President G S Nayak gave an introductory speech. Sathish N Bangera introduced the guests and Sharada U Ambesange introduced the participants of the competitions. S K Padmanabha sang a prayer song. Somnath S Karkera compered the programme. Teacher Mallikarjuna Badigera proposed vote of thanks.
