Mangaluru, Jan 30: Under the leadership of Campus Front of India (CFI), a protest demonstration was organized in front of the office of the deputy commissioner of Dakshina Kannada district on Tuesday January 30 morning, demanding detailed probe into the unnatural deaths of Zaibunnisa, student of a residential school at K R Pet in Mandya district, and Rachana, student of a college in Moodbidri.
The protesters expressed anger against increasing number of atrocities being inflicted on girl students over the years. Expressing frustration at loss of a large number of lives on account of atrocities against girl students, they urged the government to take strict measures. Besides demanding in-depth investigation into the deaths of both these students, the protesters demanded for payment of Rs 50 lac as compensation to each of these families.
CFI state president, Muhammed Tasveer, Dakshina Kannada district president, Muhammadu Athavullah, general secretary, Imran PJ and taluk general secretary, Farhad addressed the protesters.
