Moodbidri: Catholic Sabha deanery holds spectacular procession of offerings ahead of silver jubilee

Moodbidri, Jan 27: Catholic Sabha deanery here, in the afternoon of Friday anuary 26 organized a massive spectacular procession of offerings.

Silver Jubilee committee convener Gerald D'Costa Siddakatte extended a warm welcome to everyone. The procession was flagged off by famous Konkani activist Roy Castelino near Swaraj Maidan Moodbidri. Roy Castelino congratulated the people of the deanery people taking such a bold initiative to highlight the achievements of the Catholic community.

Catholic Sabha Mangaluru Pradesh president Anil Lobo and CS Udupi Pradesh president Valerian Fernandes were present on this occasion. Those of the deanery and parish units who brought in the offerings were honoured by Roy Castelino.



The procession then went through the streets of Moodbidri town with people attired in traditional garments accompanied by the band and tableau and culminated at Alangar Church grounds around 5.30 pm. The offerings were received by Catholic Sabha Moodbidri deanery spiritual director and dean V Fr Paul Sequeira in the presence of Alangar parish priest Fr Sunil Veigas and other deanery priests. CS deanery president Harry Rego was present on the occasion.

CS deanery secreatry Lloyd Rego proposed the vote of thanks. Victor D'Souza Paladka beautifully compered the whole programme.

The silver jubilee grand finale celebrations along with Catholic Samajotsav are scheduled to be held on January 28 at 3.30 pm at Alangar Church grounds. Bishop of Mangaluru Aloysius Paul D'Souza will preside over the programme. Various community leaders will be present and eminent community personalities will be honoured on this grand occasion.
