Mumbai, Jul 28: The annual general body meeting of the Billava Association in the metro was held on Sunday, July 27, at Sri Narayana Guru auditorium of Billava Bhavan, Santa Cruz. The event was presided over by Jaya C Suvarna, association president.

 
Speaking on the occasion, Suvarna said the leadership of the youth in the community was essential if the association is to scale new heights.  They ought to prepare themselves to show their mettle in politics. Parents should educate their children so as to achieve cent percent literacy of the community, Suvarna added.

 
Y Nagesh, vice-president, Vasudev R Kotian, L V Amin, M B Kukyan, honorary editor, association monthly bulletin ‘Akshaya’, Nityanand D Kotian, honorary chief secretary, C T Salian, honorary secretary, Bhaskar V Bangera, honorary chief treasurer, Shankar D Poojary, honorary joint secretary, Dharmesh S Salian, and U Dhananjaya Kumar, were among those present.

 
Nityanand Kotian welcomed the gathering while Poojary proposed the vote of thanks.
