Mumbai: Billavara Association women's wing celebrates Makara Sankramana

Mumbai, Jan 16: The women's wing of Billavara Association here on Sunday afternoon January 14 celebrated Makara Sankramana at Billava Bhavan, Santacruz east.

Chief guests Shani Mandira Nerul women's wing president Veena Vishwanath Poojary was the chief guest. Well known medical officer Dr Adhiti Agarval and Meera Road Vakola hospital senior official Madhava Ail, social worker Yashoda N T Poojary, association vice president Purushotham S Kotian, honorary chief treasurer Mahesh C Karkal, women's wing vice president Vilasini K Salian, former president Jayanti V Ullal were on the dais.

Sumalatha V Amin, Pooja P Kotian, Girija Chandrashekar and party sang a prayer song. Jayanti S Kotian and Vanitha A Kukyan introduced the guests. Honorary chief secretary Sumitra S Bangera compered the programme. Joint secretary Laxmi S Poojary proposed the vote of thanks. Women office bearers who conducted Arasina Kumkuma were present.



Women's wing vice president Prabha K Bangera, joint secretary Dr Geethanjali L Salian, members Chandrakala R Suvarna, Sabitha Poojary, Girija B Poojary, Vatsala K Poojary, Leela D Poojary, special invited members Shobha S Poojary, Prema R Kotian, Bhavani C Kotian, Vanitha A Kukyan, Prabha Suvarna, Rekha S Poojary, Heera D Kotian, Sudha L Ameen, Savitha Gangadhar Poojary, Dayashree Surendra Poojary and hundreds of women celebrated Makara Sankramana in a traditional way.
