Smartron 'tphone P' launched with massive battery


New Delhi, Jan 11 (IANS): Domestic original equipment manufacturer (OEM) Smartron on Thursday launched "tphone P" budget smartphone with a massive 5,000mAh battery for Rs 7,999.

The device will be available on Flipkart through a flash sale on January 17.

The company claims that tphone P's battery lasts for more than two days on a single charge and also gives the option to charge other devices such smartphones, smartbands and speakers via OTG support.

"With a massive battery and an all-metal body, we have merged power and beauty into the tphone P. To top it, we have layered it with Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 processing might to give millions of Indians an enviable device at an exceptional price," Amit Boni, Vice President Sales and Marketing, Smartron, said in a statement.

The device has a full metal body with a 5.2-inch HD display.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 Octa Core Chipset processor is coupled with 3GB RAM for smooth experience on the Android 7.1 Nougat.

The smartphone comes with an inbuilt storage of 32GB (further expandable to 128GB) and with the tronX integration users can additionally get a 1,000GB of free tcloud storage.

"tphone P" offers an advanced 13MP rear camera with autofocus and 5MP front camera along with low light flash and beautification modes.

It comes with a fingerprint sensor which enables users to take pictures and answer calls with just a tap.

The tphone P has been developed under Smartron's "Powered by tronX" programme.
