The DCIB has done a great job. Keep it up. I agree with Mr. Bhasker's comment. Why do you need to mention the culprit's father's name and family name. All of the culprits are matured above 18 years old and they are solely responsible for the crime they have committed.

What do their families have to do with the crime they have committed. Their parents, brothers and sisters would be feeling ashamed and I hope our society will not degrade these families for the reason (crime) whcih they may be not aware of.

I do admire the quick action taken by the police in the case of robbery. Faces of the four persons should be shown not only that the Police should also arrest the politicians who murder their wives. Whether they are MLA's, MP's or Ministers. That will be highly appreciable. Do that now dear Police Officers. You will never loose your job but you may be transfered. That is justice. Be true to your heart. Pastor E. W. Frank

Mangalore police Great work. We need this kind of action since Mangalore is the city of future with investments, tourism, international flights etc. taking place at rapid pace. Unless we have good law and order mechanism, Mangalore will be robbed of its development.

I am really pained by the action of these youngsters which paints Mangalore and in particular Emmekere in bad light. This was the safe area where I lived once and now it is in the limelight for all the wrong reasons. I have seen some of the parents mentioned in their young ages and they are equally responsible for the wrongdoings of their children.

Many Q's: I also do not understand as to what is the secret behind covering their faces. Can any one clarify please...! It is to make the prosection case strong during identification parade by witnesses in Criminal court of Law, as far as I know although I am not a lawyer. If the faces are shown in media, the defence lawyers use that excuse that the identification of alleged culprits by witnesses was unfair & did not follow the due process as laid down in Cr.P.C. [Criminal Procedure Code]. Even ethically, alleged culprits are not guilty, until proved in a court of law. I am amazed & fail to understand why why so many learned readers of this forum can't understand this simple logic.

We have to appreciate the awarness of our Police department. They should be honored with promotion and cash price. But it is strage to see the report that instead of showing their face, their parents name is published in the paper. Is this the fault of their parents. Media should think twice before doing so.

Like all other commentators I failed to understand the idea behind in covering the faces of the culprits. Not only this case, just watch the ever growing criminal acts reported in various channels, in almost all cases the culprits faces are covered.

In fact they should be paraded half naked face open in the locality from where they belong and in the locality where they have committed their crime so that half of the punishment they get on the spot and their friends and relatives distance themselves from such criminals.

The Inspector General of Police and the district Supdt. of Police have announced a cash reward to the police who arrested the accused in the gold heist. Technically speaking the arresting police officers were just doing their job. So why a cash reward?

It's unfair to give their parent's name, it's always better to show their face in public once they are accepted as culprit so that people are aware when they are around.

I do agree with aruncrast furthermore why the Police release these youngsters fathers name and address to the media ? covering these boys face and spoiling their fathers name!!! This new generation boys wrong doing is due the TV channels, bad cenema and their background organizations. And their parents are not responsible for these grown youngsters criminal act.
