Mangaluru, Dec 30: As per the orders of Rahul Gandhi, president of All India Congress Committee (AICC), Manjunath Bhandary and Dr Deviprasad Shetty Belapu have been appointed as vice-president and secretary of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) respectively. Dr G Parameshwar, president of KPCC has sent an order in this regard as per the recommendation of Janardhan Dwivedi, secretary of AICC.
Manjunath Bhandary has served as the most sincere activist of the Congress party for the last three and a half decades involving himself and contributing immensely to build students Congress and youth Congress at the national level.

Dr Deviprasad Shetty is in active politics for the past 25 years. He is the beginner of rural development and was president of Belapu gram panchayat for eight long years. In addition, he was the president of Belapu co-operative bank for six years. He has also held the position of director of South Canara District Central Co-Operative Bank Ltd (SCDCC), district president of the confederation of representatives of Udupi district gram panchayats, state vice-president and vice-president of district Kambala Committee. He has also made substantial contributions in several pro-people movements.
