Mangaluru: Intoxicating family case - Daregudde Priyanka released on bail

Mangaluru, Dec 30: The third Judicial Magistrate of First Class (JMFC) court granted bail to Priyanka of Daregudde in Moodbidri and she has been taken to home by her relatives.

Priyanka was released from the district jail at 6 pm on Friday, December 29.

Police had traced and brought Priyanka (25), who went missing after her marriage was fixed, and her lover to Mangaluru from Mumbai on December 21. Moodbidri police had filed a case of theft of gold ornaments and offering an intoxicating drink to her family. However, all the gold ornaments were found in the possession of Priyanka herself.

She was produced to the court on December 23 in the case of offering the intoxicating drink to the family and was remanded to judicial custody until December 26. Then the custody period was extended to January 5, 2018.

Priyanka did not agree to go to her own family house after release. Only after the family members and close relatives urged her repeatedly did she accompany them in a car.

    My sincere request to people of South Canara. your region is beautiful with high literacy rate and high standard of living and yet people are squabbling over petty things that bring bad name to the region. Matured men and women should have freedom to choose their partners without difficulty. we have seen girls of all faiths marrying boys from different faith. It is not one sided affair where Hindu girls marry Muslim boys.

    when Muslim girls have married Hindu boys, not a leaf has moved, no closure of business was called or no "Love Jihad" kind of canard was spread by Muslim community. I sincerely hope that people will realize the futility of indulging in trivial issues and continue to lead peaceful lives allowing newly weds to start their married life.

    India, of late, is getting lot of bad press in International media and India watchers are questioning our credentials that espouse secualar values and universal brotherhood. we will never become a power of global stature if we waste our time and energy on things that should not be our concern.

    It is high time Hindus form Hindu task force and identify people enticing Hindu girls in name of love jihad, forced conversions, and take them to task. Even married men are luring and converting Hindu girls is a dangerous trend.

    Don't worry her brother is there to give her justice if talaq matter arises.. In Hindu religion more divorces than Muslims. At least they give talaq and she can lead her own life as her wish. Muslims don't ditch their wives for their lavish life like your brother did. Since talaq news became a national issue so many people taking interest to know about it and understand how systematically produced it for womens interest.

    But in that case now there is provision to send the husband behind bars for three years.
    And what can we do if she is abandoned and compelled to leave like our Bhabi Jashodaben from Gujarat?!
