“Pakistani authorities had allegedly asked Kulbhushan Jadhav's mother and wife to remove their mangalsutra, bangles, footwear and bindi and got their dress changed when they went to meet Jadhav on December 25. We strongly condemn this act by Pakistan,” he added.
The members of Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal raised slogans against Pakistan. They also burnt the national flag of Pakistan to show their agitation.
Bajrang Dal leader Sharan Pumpwell, Bhujanga Kulal and others were present.
Similar protest was held in Udupi also.
“Pakistan has insulted a Hindu man who was working for his family’s livelihood. The way Pakistan treated Jadhav is condemnable. Pakistan has hurt our religious feelings by removing Jadhav’s mothers Mangalsutra and bangles. They have clearly violated human right norms” said, Sunil KR from Bajarangdal Udupi unit.
Bajarangdal activists also urged Superintendent of Police not to give permissions for New Year parties. It spoils our tradition. Our Hindu girls are treated badly in these parties. DJ party, alcohol, dances are against our culture. We urge SP not to give permission to all these parties, they said.
New Year celebration is a western concept. In name of celebration, innocent girls are misused for love jihad and other unlawful activities. Bajarangdal also urged SP to close all bars, restaurants before 11pm.
A large number of Bajarngdal members took part in protest.
