Udupi, Dec 28: Sri Vishweshwara Theertha Swamiji of Paryaya Pejawar Math on Thursday, December 28 informed that his biennial term would come to a close during January 2018. He said that during his Paryaya period, works worth Rs 16 crore had been executed both in Srikrishna Math and Pajaka Kshetra. "Several projects envisaged by me are still under way," he explained.
Addressing the media at Badagumalige of Sri Krishna Math, he said, “I have carried out many developmental works during the two-year tenure. The space available inside the Math was increased by renovating the outer compound at a cost of Rs 3.5 crore. The Rajangana Hall is being renovated at an estimated cost of Rs 3.5 crore. The first floor on its top is called Madhwangana auditorium of which construction is in progress and will be completed soon. Two guest house buildings are being constructed at a cost of two crore rupees for tourists’ accommodation. It has three floors and 20 blocks. A dormitory for tourists is being constructed at a cost of Rs 3.50 crore near Car Street. Rs 50 lac is being spent for the extension of Yatri Nivasa as well,” he explained
The Swamiji further informed that five crore rupees was being spent for Vidyashala at Pajaka Kshetra and construction of hostel for PU students. On the whole, Rs 16 crore was spent for developmental works, he said.
He also expressed his unhappiness at not being able to successfully execute the plan of planting one crore saplings.
“I have plans to develop Anandateertha school project at Pajaka after my Paryaya term concludes. The government has allotted a 10 acre plot at Hubballi for the construction of hostel for PU students. I am also planning to complete construction of a hospital at a cost of Rs 20 crore in Marathalli, Bengaluru which is currently in progress. Rs 12 crore donated by devotees would be spent on the project," he explained.
“There are plans of constructing Public Vidya Nilaya in Shivamogga. Land has been allotted for the project. Two other Vidya Nilayas function in Mysuru and at Kukkikatte in Udupi. A new Sri Krishna temple will be built in Pune," he clarified.
Swamiji also informed that Pejawar math will organize various programmes for a period of 14 days including cultural events as part of the demitting of office at the end of his Paryaya term.
“From January 5 to 6, there will be a programme of Shrimannyayasudha Mangalotsava and Thatparya Chandrika Mangalotsava. Along with that, there will be a session where many scholars are expected to come to deliver lectures on January 8 and 9. The scholars will arrive from Uttara Kannada, Sringeri and three senior heads of Madhwa temples," he stated.
The 36th Sudha Mangala, a valedictory of two years of Vedic studies, will also be held. The second Chandrika Mangalotsava of senior Pejawar Swamiji will also be held.
On queries of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Sri Krishna Math, Swamiji said, “I have invited him. I will be happy if he comes during my Paryaya period.”
Speaking on Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, he said, “I do not know about the chief minister’s plans. I had invited him earlier.”
Answering a query about his plans of officiating his sixth Paryaya, Swamiji said, “There are 14 long years for the sixth Paryaya to take place. I will be a centenarian that time. I may not be physically strong to complete all the religious rituals of the Paryaya. If my health is good, I would like to guide the junior seer.”
