Bengaluru, Dec 22: National president of BJP, Amit Shah, has already announced that his next goal is to bring BJP to power in Karnataka. A team of experts is working silently behind the scenes since 2014 for ensuring victory of BJP in almost all the assembly elections.
The normal practice of Shah is to appoint a private firm in the state which will go to polls, to assess political situation prevalent there. He then sits with his team and formulates strategies for victory after holding detailed discussions. Some more people are also deputed to the state thereafter to collect another round of information. The strategies are then fine-tuned in accordance with the information so collected. Shah and his team then holds discussions about the strategies with leaders from the state. After collecting suggestions from these leaders, a final draft is prepared.
Shah involves some local leaders in drawing up election strategies. Before that, he gatheres information through his own sources about the functioning style of these leaders, elections they have fought in the past, and techniques they employed for victory etc. He also takes into account view of Karnataka in-charge of BJP affairs, Muraleedhar Rao, joint in-charge, Purandeshwari, BJP election in-charge, Prakash Javdekar, joint in-charge, Piyush Goyal etc.
Leading personalities in Shah's core team happen to be Bhupender Yadav, Omprakash Mathur, Arun Singh, Ramlal, Ram Madhav, and Anil Jain. For Karnataka assembly election, B L Santosh's suggestions are also considered by including him in the team. All these leaders are clear in their minds about the implementation of political strategies, how to strengthen party organization and addressing of differences between leaders.
Some of these leaders will work at the state level while others will monitor by sitting in the national headquarters. All of them have proved their mettle at different levels and they have different skills like addressing dissidence, building party from grass root level, financial management, handling of tough situations, understanding local needs and adjusting strategies accordingly etc.
