Mysuru, Dec 20: After a telephonic bomb threat was received on Wednesday December 20 morning, the citizens of this cultural capital of Karnataka went into a tizzy. It is yet to be confirmed whether this was a hoax call or not.
The anonymous caller told the police that a bomb has been planted in a public park in the city. The police thereafter began to conduct detailed check in People's Park here.
Bomb squads and sniffer dogs were pressed into service for spot verification. During this period, a suspicious looking object covered in cloth was found. Several personnel belonging to bomb disposal squad and senior officials rushed to the spot following this finding. Presence of police in large number has been giving anxious moments to the people.
There is suspicion that the thing covered in cloth could be a bomb. The police have barred entry of people into the park. Therefore, an air of apprehension prevails in the park and nearby bus stand. Tension may continue to prevail till the police find out and reveal about the genuineness of the call.
