Moodbidri, Dec 20: Bhandary Samaja Seva Sangha here feels that the probe by police into the mysterious disappearance of Priyanka from Dharegudde here has not been up to the expectations. The Sangha pointed out that even after ten days since the said disappearance, there has not been considerable progress in the investigation. It has warned of organizing strong protests all over the state, highlighting the failure of the department in cracking this case.
President of the Sangha, Prashant Bhandary, addressing a press conference organized at Press Club here on Tuesday December 19, expressed the suspicion that this could be a case of Love Jihad. He said that the Sangha had already submitted memorandum to the city police commissioner urging him to take immediate action, but added that he is disappointed at the sluggish progress of the investigation so far.
Bhandary stated that there is suspicion that Hyder from Bantwal would have induced Priyanka with the help of intoxicants to accompany him along with gold ornaments. "If the two were really in love, they would not have taken away the gold ornaments. The letter purported to have been written by Priyanka is found to be fake. The handwriting and content of the letter do not match the actual personality of Priyanka. On the face of it, the letter appears to be fake. With undue delay, there is apprehension about danger to the life of Priyanka. We are thinking about filing habeas corpus petition seeking to find Priyanka," he explained.
Vice president of the Sangha, K N Prakash Bhandary, general secretary, Guruprasad Bhandary, treasurer, Yogesh Bhandary, former president, Karinje Satish Bhandary, and Prajwal Bhandary Kana of Bhandari Youth Forum were present at the press conference.
