Kundapur, Dec 19: Pro-Hindu organizations and Kharvi community members held a mass protest at Gangolli on Tuesday, December 19 urging for justice in the recent mysterious death of Paresh Mesta at Honnavar. The protest rally that started at Gangolli fort passed via important streets, Nayakwadi and Gujjadi till it reached Trasi.
The protesters expressed anguish at the Congress party and chief minister Siddaramaiah for the delay in investigation of alleged murder of Paresh. The protesters later gathered at Kodapadi grounds, Gangolli for a protests meeting.
The protesters observed a minute's silence for Paresh Mesta before the meeting. K P Ullas, addressing the protesters expressed anguish regarding the death of Paresh Mesta and said that Siddaramaiah- led Congress government incites murders of Hindus. He said that that the recent murders proved it. He also warned that Hindus will teach a lesson if they are neglected.
RSS divisional leader Raviraj Karaba said that ruling Congress suppresses Hindus. “The government has directly supported the assaulters. Police department has kept quiet even after the assaulters brandished machetes after the death of Paresh Mesta. Police department itself damaged the vehicles of staff and made it look like the result of communal unrest,” he alleged.
Vasudeva Gangolli gave an introductory speech. A memorandum to the governor urging to hand over the case to National Investigation Agency (NIA) was sent through the tahasildar.

It looked like a complete bandh during the protest. Shops and commercial establishments remained closed. SP Sanjeev Patil stationed in Gangolli personally arranged security.
Drones and cameras were put to service to prevent untoward incidents. Every vehicle was checked at check posts before leaving towards Gangolli.
Heavy police presence was seen everywhere including sensitive places.
