Bengaluru, Dec 13: The separate poll tours by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and KPCC president G Parameshwara was termed ‘unnecessary’ by Senior Congress leader C K Jaffer Sharief.
Speaking to the reporters, he said that the party would have benefited if both leaders had taken the tour together without making it a prestige issue.
Chief Minister Siddaramaih’s tour that kicked off today covers all constituencies ruled by Congress while G Parameshwar’s tour to start on December 27 will focus on constituencies that Congress lost in 2013 assembly elections.

It is said that G Parameshwara was upset that the CM had fixed his poll tour plan without consulting him. When the rift became public, AICC general secretary in-charge of Karnataka K C Venugopal stepped in and told both leaders to tour separately.
However, G Parameshwara has denied his relationship going sour with Siddaramaiah. “We are all comfortably placed in our positions. We are mature individuals who know our job well. We are neither fighting nor sparring as some media reports have stated,” he had said.
