Kuwait: Tulu Koota Kuwait holds annual general meeting

Kuwait, Dec 11: The annual general body meeting of Tulu Koota Kuwait (TKK) was held on December 8 at Indian Community School, Senior Branch, Salmiya, Kuwait.

The meeting commenced with the Kuwait and Indian National Anthem followed by a classical welcome dance by Tanvi Vijay Shetty, a budding talent of TKK. The members of the managing committee and the advisory committee inaugurated the event by lighting the lamp.



Wilson D’Souza, the president, welcomed the members of the association. General secretary Jagadeeshwara Shanubhogue U presented the annual report for the year 2017. The audited annual financial report for the year 2017 was presented by Manoj Stephen Rego, treasurer. Both the reports were approved by the members of association with a thunderous applause.

Three budding stars of TKK, Yash Yadunath Alva, Valence Nelson Fernandes and Deon Prince D'Souza were honored with mementos for their outstanding performance and winning awards in interschool competitions in various fields. Further, as a token of gratitude and appreciation, the main coordinators and choreographers were honored with mementos for their contribution to the super hit programme ‘Tember’ at Tulu Parba 2017. Thereafter, the managing committee concluded their tenure and returning officer Ramesh Shekar Bhandary started the election proceedings for the managing committee for the year 2018.

All the members of the new managing committee were elected unanimously under the leadership of young and dynamic person Wilson D’Souza, who was reelected as the president for the second term. All the members of the association applauded to show their unconditional and continued support to him to lead the team and the association for the year 2018.

The elected members of the managing committee assured the members of the association of best service during their tenure in their introductory speech. The newly elected president, Wilson D’Souza, in his speech thanked all the members for accepting and giving him a chance to serve as president of the association for the second term. He stressed that his team will continue to pay more attention on charity and welfare activities. He informed that the previous welfare project under the banner ‘Glimmer of Hope’ and ‘Project Education’ will continue with an extended scope and dimension to it. Further, outgoing members of the management committee, Vijay Kumar Kairangala, Madhav Naik, and Rajesh Mendon were honored with mementos for their dedicated service to the association.

The cultural programme that followed thereafter where the members of the association of all age participated made the evening more colorful. Purandara Manchi efficiently hosted event. The cultural programme concluded with Santa Clause joyously distributing sweets to kids and a Christmas cake cutting and symbolic celebration of the New Year 2018. The event was well coordinated by cultural secretary Ronald D’Souza.

The event came to an end with the vote of thanks rendered by the general secretary Jagadeeshwar Shanubhogue U who thanked one and all for their effort and support to the event including M&M Caterers for the dinner, Wave Events and Rentals for the lighting and sound and Alban Pinto, photographer for capturing the event.
