Bengaluru, Dec 5 (DHNS): Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Tuesday said he along with the party leaders will take out "Janashirvada yatre" from March 1 next year, as part of the Congress campaign for the 2018 assembly election.
However, the Chief Minister is going ahead with his district-wise tour "Sadhaneya Sambrama" scheduled to commence from December 13.
Though the one-month tour of all districts is a government-sponsored programme meant to reviewing the budgetary announcements, Siddaramaiah will be using it to drum up support for the ruling party.
Siddaramaiah, who has been given the responsibility of leading the party campaign in the election, had initially planned to name his district tour "Janashirvada yatre". But he later changed its name as a section of party leaders, including State Congress president G Parameshwara, raised objection. The leaders are upset with the Chief Minister for not taking them into confidence before finalising the programme.
Further the Chief Minister clarified that he will be visiting all districts for only laying foundation stones for developmental works and that it has nothing to do with the party.
