Credit goes to Aum Animation Studio Pvt Ltd who are behind the scenes of 'Andy (earlier Ande) Pirki' show.
The show, loaded with local essence will be aired in all SAARC nations - Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka with the motive of spreading the local slang. The promos of the show are aired on the channel which us creating a lot of buzz. This is the first instance where a Mangaluru based animation studio has taken up such show a giant step.
Speaking to daijiworld.com, CEO of Aum Animation Studio Vivek Bolar said, "The initial idea struck us in the year 2009 when I started Aum Animation Studio. We wanted to do our own story and TV series. We realised that our team lacked experience and budget. From 2009 to 2013 we were doing architectural visualisation and in 2013 we started working on our own project, story and concept which was named as’ Ande Pirki’.
"In 2013, we developed this idea into episodes which was not up to the mark. We made one episode in every two months and checked it. In 2014, we thought it was good enough to be shown. We applied for award and won both the award in national and international category beating the likes of ‘Motu Patlu’ and ‘Chota Bheem’.
"Later, Turner Broadcasting which owns Cartoon Network and Pogo channels approached us and liked the concept. The show will be aired on Pogo from December 3. Turner Broadcasting wanted to change the name of the characters. As we wanted some Tulu essence in it, we renamed ‘Ande’ to Andy and we retained the name ‘Pirki’.
“‘Andy Pirki’ show is all about two friends having fun, madness with total entertainment for the viewers. We are planning to air 78 episodes of 7 minutes each which will telecasted on prime time from December 3,” he said.
