July 17: D-day for Kuwait - Mangalore Direct Flight?

July 17: D-day for Kuwait - Mangalore Direct Flight?

Daijiworld Media Network Dubai / Mangalore / Mumbai

Kuwait, Jun 26: Long-awaited dream of people from Coastal Karnataka and Northern Malabar region living in Kuwait, of flying direct to Mangalore airport is almost set to come true, as final preparations are on and within a week's time tickets will be available online.

Top sources of Air India Express told Rajesh Sequeira, Coordinator for Karnataka NRI forum in Dubai that Thursday July 17 has been finalized as the date for maiden Kuwait-Mangalore direct flight as of now. Authorities have presented the schedule to aviation ministry for approval. The schedule is expected to get the approval within a week's time.

Initially there will be two flights a week, on Sunday and Thursday via Muscat.

Sources also said that a brand new aircraft of AI Express arrived on Monday June 23 and the process of  introducing direct flight has started after the arrival of new aircraft. Owing to smaller carrying-capacity of the aircraft, it may not be possible to fly direct Kuwait - Mangalore flight as of now. Hence flights have been scheduled to fly via Muscat for the time being.

Several NRI organizations from Kuwait have been trying for this direct flight from the last few years. Though Kuwait is one of the oldest and largest places where large numbers of Coastal Karantaka NRIs are residing, direct  flight to fly home has still been a mirage. This long delay in introducing direct flight had angered large number of NRIs.

Now with the beginning of Mangalore-Kuwait sector, passengers will be relieved of their woes of travelling via Mumbai or other airports in India.

The submitted schedule for approval is as follows:

Flight No. IX 389 / IX 390

Flight will arrive from Coachin to Mangalore at 18.50hrs
Departure to Kuwait via Muscat at 19.35hrs

Departure from Kuwait to Mangalore via Muscat at 0.05hrs next day

Further information will be updated soon on daijiworld.com

Finally, after a long time awaited dream is coming true??.... can’t believe this. Any how first I want to thank to Daijiworld for giving us good news and congratulations to all the people who worked hard behind  this… waiting for 17th July.. to the final result.. Mr. Sulaiman, Bantwal, your comments are really 100% true… coz, in November 2006 my sister arrived from Dubai to Mangalore, at that time she was pregnant for 7 months… and when she arrived in Mangalore airport, they treated her very badly in security, immigration and luggage section.. coz of their treatment she felt to cry lot.

These people if they behave like this with a pregnant woman, then what about others????? So, kindly I request to the people who are responsible to the Mangalore airport to solve these kind of problems.

congratulations......kuwaiti mangaloreans. I FEEL HAPPY BUT WHEN IAMGINE ABOUT THE TREATMENT INTHE MANGALORE AIRPORT, BETTER YOU CHNGE THE DESTINATION JUST TO AVOID THESE GROUND STAFF, WHO ARE SO EGO, UNHUMANLY PEOPLE. FROM WHICH PLANET THESE STAFF COME FROM. I HVE 25 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE ABROAD AND NOT EXPERIENCED LIKE THIS WORST IN ANY OTHER PLACE.SAY SECUIRITY, SAY IMMIGRATION, LUGGAGE EVEN THE COOLY ALSO. WE PREFER TO GO AND LAND IN BANGLORE OR IN CALICUT AIRPORT WHEREVER CLOSEBY BUT NOT MANGALORE AIRPORT. SPECIALLY LUGGAGE WHILE ARRIVING EVEN DEPARTURE THESE PEOPLE GIVING HELL OF TROUBLE, ANY ONE MAY FEEL NOT TO LAND HERE AGAIN

Congratulations to all the NRI's in Kuwait. This is no doubt a good overwhelming news to you all. Thanks to daijiworld, the site being all the time helpful to all NRI's including me. Meanwhile, I left thinking of directly flying to my "KODIAL" from the city. I feel from the bottom of my heart that I am somewhere either one of the sister-concern of "ANDAMAN & NICHOBAR" islands.

The reason being I am a frequent flier to Mangalore via Mumbai atleast every four months where I reach Mumbai at 1900 hours and unfortunately my connecting flight is next morning at 1000 hours. Anyways, thanks to Santacruz domestic Airport for allowing me to wait for 14 long  hours and Zindabaad to Mumbai hotels where I accomodate myself whenever I feel that I am fed up.

Mabrook for Mangaloreans in Kuwait. But one concern with Air-India Express, very expensive ticket. It as like normal traditional airline. When AI is charging so much why can't they provide food like normal airline. It just fooling business saying budget Airline and looting the public.

FOR YOUR INFO. NO ORGANISATION DID ANY THING NOR CAN DO ANY THING REGARDING NEW AIR ROUTES AND NEW / EXTRA FLIGHTS AS THESE ARE COMMERCIAL ORGANISATION PURELY RUN ON COMMERCIAL BASIS WORKING ON INDUCEMENT AND NOT A CHARITABLE ORGANISATION (IN INDIA CHARITABLE ORGANISATION HAVE BECOME EXCELLENT PROFIT CENTRES IS A DIFFERENT STORY)AS THIS ROUTE IS THE WORK HORSE AND NAVRATNA ROUTE FOR ALL AIRLINES WHICH ARE EARNING HIGHEST REVENUE AND THERE BY PROFITS.

INDIAN AIRLINES HAVE CLOSED / CANCELLED MANY DOMESTIC FLIGHTS ON NON PROFITABKLE ROUTES AND THE IDLE CAPACITY WILL BE USED ON THIS NEW ROUTE. THAT IS THE STORY GOING ON FOR THE LAST ONE YEAR ON THE ON INTERNATIONAL OIL FUTURES CONTRACT.
