Goa to be in top three in 'ease of doing business': CM

Panaji, Oct 28 (IANS): By next year, Goa will be ranked in the list of top three states vis-a-vis ease of doing business, Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar said on Friday. Parrikar was speaking at the 'Knowledge Exchange Goa' Summit organised by Elets technomedia here.

"We will be in top three (in the country)," Parrikar said, adding that the coastal state had already crossed 55 per cent of the various ranking parameters meant to measure 'ease of doing business'.

"Today when I was taking a review, I found that we have already crossed 55 per cent in various parameters of ease of doing business," Parrikar said.

Parrikar had formed a special committee earlier this year, after the state's ranking fell to 21 among Indian states, to identify issues and spruce up efforts for facilitating mechanisms to encourage 'ease of doing business'.
