Mangaluru, Oct 28: It is raining Malani Film Festival on Daijiworld 24x7 Television every weekend since past few months now. This is to commemorate Sandeep Malani’s silver jubilee year in films. The season has seen the entire film series of his Hindi mother sentiment ‘Maa –Yeh Cinemaa Hai’ featuring Meena Malani followed by the woman empowerment award winning Kannada film ‘Sulige Sikkidaaga’, starring Kalpana Pandit. And the girl child empowerment film, ‘Devi’.
To keep the momentum going, this weekend will feature Sandeep Malani’s two short films; namely 'Moments' and 'A Loanly Life'. Both the films deal with happiness, sorrows, understanding and bond of love of married couple.
'Moments' (Hindi, 16 mins) is a story, which revolves around a happy couple, whose life becomes sour just because of an IPL match. Moments was shot in a span of only twelve hours and completed in indoor and outdoor locations of Andheri, Mumbai. The film has newcomers Jeet Sachdev, Deepti Dua and Vikramjith Chaudhury. Kamal Lokhandwala is the cameraman. Made under the banner of Shot by Shot Productions, the film has story, screenplay and direction by Sundeep Malani.
'A Loanly Life' (Kannada, 5 mins) is a story of a happy married couple with a little kid, who has all the luxurious requirements in the house and finds difficult to repay the EMIs. How they overcome the situation with the bonding of love is told in a short and sweet way. Starring Trilok Shroff and Sheershika Kasarvalli. Cinematography by Selvam. Music by Ravi Raj. Concept, Screenplay and Direction by Sundeep Malani
These films will be telecast on Sunday, October 29 at 7.30 pm and repeat on Friday, November 3 at 5.30 pm.
