Shri Vishwakarma Seva Balaga hosts Pooja Mahotsava in Bahrain

Bahrain, Oct 22: Shri Vishwakarma Seva Balaga, here celebrated its eighth Shri Vishwakarma Pooja Mahotsava recently at Karnataka Social Club auditorium in Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain.

The morning session of the programme was started by Kalasha Pratishta in the august presence of eminent astrologer, renowned vastu consultant and gemstone specialist as well as 'Aryabhata - 2017' awardee Ashok Purohith, Mumbai.

After lighting the ceremonial lamp by the president and members of the balaga; the ladies wing presented the chanting of Shri Vighneshwara, Shri Vishwakarma and Shri Kalikamba Stotras and Lalithashtothara Shathanamavaali.

Savitha Natesh and Natesh Achar couple presided over the puja proceedings.



Soon after the recital of stotras, Bhajana Seva led by Pradeep Karkala, Rajesh Kodethur, Sharvani Manjunath, K B Jagdish Achar, ably supported by Pradeep Karkala on tabla, Binu Madhavan on harmonium was performed. Shripathi Acharya, Seetharama Acharya, Harini Sunil and Divyaraj Rai also joined the devotional moment.

A Mahapooja Mahamangalarathi was offered to the deity by Purohithji followed by distribution of prasadam to all the devotees gathered at the auditorium. Mahaprasadam – Annasantharpane was served and appreciated by all the devotees present.

The entertainment session of the programme kick-started at 3 pm at the same venue. Pradeep Karkala recited Shri Ganesha Stuthi. Reshma Sathish, Sharvani Manjunath, Savitha Natesh, Namrutha Ullas and Ananya aesthetically presented the Bhakti Roopaka dance. After Kannada Naada Geethe by Pradeep Karkala, the energetic budding talents of Balaga, Ronith, Anshul, Sahil, Manvith, Abhinav, Ananya, Greeshma and Shreeya danced to the tune of a patriotic song, to the applause of the audience.

Sharvani Manjunath sung a beautiful Bhavageethe. Swapnil exhibited his dancing skills to the rhythm of western music and Divya sang a Tulu song for a change. A thought provoking skit on 'India in progress' was the highlight of the day enacted by the young brigade of Balaga namely Preetham, Pradeep, Adarsh, Sunil, Sudheendra, Vighnesh, Natesh, Bhasker, Keshav, Savitha, Anshul, Ronith and Abhinav.

Ashok Purohith was honoured with a citation, shawl and fruit basket by a well known businessman of Bahrain Shantharam Shetty and his wife in the presence of Rajkumar, former president of Kannada Sangha, former president Damodar Mijar and the president Sathish Acharya. The choreographer of skit, mime show and all dances for the day, Preetham Acharya was also felicitated with a momento.

A foot tapping Kannada song by Pradeep Karkala from the movie 'Rajakumara', a tulu duet song by Rajesh Kodethur and Sharvani Manjunath was well appreciated by the audience. A beautiful Marathi folk dance by the lovely ladies of the Balaga namely Reshma Sathish, Savitha Natesh, Harini Sunil, Shrinidhi Pradeep, Sharvani Manjunath and Kumari Ananya was well received by the audience.

A memorable Bollywood duet number by Pradeep Karkala and Sharvani Manjunath, Kannada duet number by Rajesh Kodethur and Harini Sunil; another Kannada duet from Sharvani Manjunath and Pradeep Karkala, a melodious solo by Harini Sunil were the highlights of the musical parade.

The eagerly awaited mime show , depicting the mishaps of the modern electronic gadget- mobile, was applauded by the audience for the wonderful acting by Preetham, Sunil, Keshav, Vighnesh, Sudhindra, Adarsh, Anshul, Abhinav and Ronith.

K B Jagdish Achar, founder president of the Balaga, was master of ceremony. He welcomed the guest and audidence and thanked everyone for their good support and for making this function a grand success.
