Mumbai, Oct 9: First ever Konkani-Tulu bilingual movie 'Ashem Zalem Kashem'/Incha Aand Ancha was successfully screened at Maxus cinema, Jerimery Mumbai on October 8 at 9.30 am. The film was presented by Konkanifilms.com.
The screening was inaugurated by the well known businessman Albert W D’Souza, president of Aldel Trust, also the secretary of Model Co-Operative Bank. Addressing the audience in his inaugural speech, he said, “Mangaloreans are well known for knowing and using multi languages and therefore we can enjoy the essence of both the languages used in this movie.” He also appreciated the effort put in by the team to bring in the talents of both the communities (Konkani and Tulu) in one frame. He called out for people in Mumbai to organize more shows and wished the team success.
Producer, director of the film Maxim Pereira who was present during the screening, said the intent of doing this movie was to provide entertainment to the audience and not promote any language. He said he was saddened with unwanted rumors spread by some people but at the same time was very happy with the support of people all over with houseful shows. Thanking the audience for their support and encouragement, he also welcomed suggestions and feedback to improvise and implement in the future projects.
The local coordinator of the film Lawrence D’Souza, Kamani, proposed the vote of thanks and the whole event was compered by Clement Lobo, director of Model Co-operative Bank.
The audience enjoyed and appreciated the movie for its script, melodious songs, rib-tickling comedy, suspense, drama and romance and also said that they eagerly wait for these kinds of movies that break the language barrier and provide entertainment.
