Panaji: Process to obtain govt services explained online

Panaji, Oct 9 (TOI): In line with the Business Reforms Action Plan (BRAP) for Goa, government departments have begun to take steps, though late, to simplify bureaucratic processes.

While citizens will have to wait till January for the Goa (Right of Citizens to Time-Bound Delivery of Public Services) Act to be completely implemented, the procedure to avail government services may become a bit clearer in the coming days. Nudged by the chief minister's office, several state government departments have begun to explain the procedure to apply for key services on their respective websites.

Government departments such as Goa Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC), directorate of fire & emergency services (DFES), both the North and South Goa collectorates, department of labour and employment, department of urban development and inspectorate of factories & boilers are some of the few departments that have begun the process.

GIDC, DFES and department of labour and employment are the few of the departments which have created a separate page for ease-of-doing-business.
