Thrissur (Kerala), Sep 30 (IANS): Even as Kerala Police has quickly arrested four people accused in the murder of a real estate broker at Chalakkudy near here, the probe team is treading carefully in the conspiracy angle behind the murder after the name of a well-known advocate surfaced.
Rajeev, 43, was found dead on Friday morning near here. By evening the police arrested four people, who have now been named as the accused.
Ever since the body of Rajeev was found, the name of an advocate started doing the rounds in the media after a friend of the deceased said the broker had filed a complaint that he was being threatened by this advocate.
Thrissur (Rural) Superintendent of Police Yathish Chandra told reporters here on Saturday evening that four people have been arrested and two more involved in the murder are on the run.
"Real estate deals are the reason behind the murder. He (Rajeev) was smothered and strangulated," said Chandra, and told the media not to ask probing questions.
In reply to a question about the advocate, he said, "It's too early to say."
