Mangaluru, Aug 16: Actress Ameeta Kulal has made her debut in Sandalwood with ‘Aa Eradu Varshagalu’. After being seen in Coastalwood, Mangalurean Ameeta’s lead role in a Kannada film has caught everyone by surprise.

‘Aa Eradu Varshagalu’ from Abhimatha Productions banner is directed by debutant Madhusudhan.

Ameeta is the daughter of the Sadashiv couple from Mangaladevi. After completing her early education in Mangaluru, Ameeta moved to Mumbai and pursued modeling. She was offered a chance in a Tulu film when she was on a visit to Mangaluru.

“Director Madhusudhan wanted to cast a new face. Some friends of mine sent him my pictures. I was called for audition and finalized for the lead role,” says Ameeta.

“My next Kannada film Shyam Shivamogga’s ‘Happy Journey’ will be released soon. I am also working on ‘Jagat Khiladi’. I received as many as 12 scripts. Being very selective, I have rejected many of them,” she adds.
