Mangaluru: Malani Talkies celebrates Sridevi’s Golden Jubilee with her 300 films

Mangaluru, Aug 12: Our Mangalorean actor/director who has done South and Bollywood films; Sundeep Malani, is one such die hard and ardent fan of Sridevi, who everyone will certainly agree to. Why, even the actress is aware of it and Boney Kapoor rightly acknowledges it.

Malani has been following Sridevi as her fan, since he was a young little 7-year-old; as he had first seen her on the big silver screen in the Tamil film, ‘Kalyana Raman’ in Ramakanthi Talkies, Mangaluru wherein his dad (Ramesh Malani) was the manager. As he watched the film umpteen time, since then he has been a crazy fan of hers. And from his childhood to adulthood, Malani has watched all her films, from her first film ‘Thunaivan’ in Tamil to the latest hit, ‘Mom’. Sridevi has acted in 300 films till date in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi.

Sundeep Malani himself is an encyclopaedia of Sridevi’s films. He has the complete list of all her films, the database, the pictures, posters, the songs, audios and the videos. You will not find any such details of Sridevi in google, be it Wikipedia, Imdb, blogs or any sites. But Malani has the collection and he has been actively sharing it on his Facebook page dedicated to Sridevi. Malani had a few years ago, gave an album of all her pictures presented to her. He also has made three musical documentaries consisting of songs of her entire Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam films. They have been titled ‘Roop Ki Rani’ ‘Senthoora Poove’ and ‘Athiloka Sundari’. These were gifted to her on her birthday.

Malani with his entertainment company, Malani Talkies has already started – Sridevi Film Festival right from February this year wherein he has completed giving detailed diary of her films and has successfully completed Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada and Telugu and right now, he is in the process of celebrating her Hindi films. The festival is on social media in all the platforms – Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube. With 300 films in her kitty, Malani has dedicated this entire year in celebrating her films – daily! And by the look of it, he is planning to complete it by the end of the year. And after which, he is planning to bring all this in print – a book titled ‘Hawa Hawaii: Sridevi’.

There are many Sridevi fans on social media who support, share and also contribute their collection on Facebook pages – Sridevi, Sridevi Fans, Sridevi Kapoor – The Last Empress of Bollywood. Namely Puneet Sharma, Gaurav Rajput, Singam Baba, Sumit Daga, Tapan Panda, Lakshmi Moorty, Subhajit Chatterjee, Chirag Pitolwala, Ghanshyam Gajjar, John PJ, Deepti Pinnitti, Rajan Naidu, Murthy Kankatala, Deepa Bhatia, Sridevana J Soni, Rakesh Jain, Veerabhadra Rao Dontamsetti, Deepjyothi Kumar, Sudarshan Reddy, Abdully Abdul, Piyush Dattanni, Ratna Naga, Ketan Shinde, Pravah SH, Chandan Nalawade and many more.

Malani, who has met Sridevi, Boney Kapoor and the entire family umpteen times was recently part of the promotional activities of her film, Mom and has also made a short musical documentary on her career for Zee Studios. Quiz him about her film and he will give away all the answers scoring 100/100. No one can compete with him about Sridevi. Boney Kapoor rightly said, “If there was anyone else who knew about all her films, it was her mom and besides her, now it is Sundeep Malani. No one else would know her complete filmography. Not even Sri, as she does not remember it at all.”
