EC receives plaint against Parrikar for ‘whipping up religious sentiments’

Panaji, Aug 9 (TOI): The Election Commission, the chief electoral officer and North Goa collector have received a complaint against chief minister Manohar Parrikar for allegedly violating the model code of conduct by "whipping up religious sentiments by using religious places ", along with "thousands of supporters", at the time of filing his nomination.

    The EC after investigating the allegations and if it finds that the allegations are true, the candidate should be disqualified instantly. The election certificate should be withheld without declaring the results till the investigation is over. Only such stringent action will curb communalism.
