Dubai, Aug 6 (IANS): A 78-storey residential building caught fire on Sunday but the blaze was quickly put out.
Panic broke out in the Dubai Marina district when the fire was reported on a balcony in the upper floors of Tiger Tower, just two days after a blaze caused minor damages in the adjacent Torch Tower, Xinhua news agency reported.
No injuries were reported in Sunday's incident.
Twitter users said residents were evacuated from the tower, but allowed to return shortly after, as Civil Defence extinguished the flames quickly.
The Tiger Tower, also known as the Pinnacle Tower, is 280 meters high, according to the website of the developer Tiger Group.
Fire incidents have happened several times in Dubai's high rise buildings in recent years, pushing insurance costs higher for apartments and property in general in the Gulf count.
