Vasco, Jul 30 (TOI): An electricity short circuit gutted parts of a house owned by Caetano Fernandes at Issorcim-Holant on Saturday evening, causing damages estimated at Rs 2 lakh.
Vasco fire station officials said the fire started due to the geyser in the bathroom located on the first floor of the house. The fire spread to the storeroom and the kitchen. The Vasco fire tender was alerted at 6.20pm on Saturday. Fire tender personnel rushed into action and managed to bring the fire under control. Timely intervention by the Vasco fire station personnel headed by station fire officer Dilip Bicholkar saved property worth around Rs 10 lakh.
