Mangaluru, Jul 17: New developments are taking place in the Konkani film industry. The news of at least two Konkani films releasing this year, is making rounds in Coastalwood.
One of the film which might hit screens in September is 'Planning...Devachem'. It is one of the big budget films in Konkani cinema and is assured of getting released simultaneously in Bengaluru, Mysuru, Karwar, Goa, Mangaluru and interior Karnataka.
'Planning...Devachem' produced at a cost of Rs one crore has been in news for some time. The songs of the film are already a hit. The sales of its music CDs has created history. The shooting and dubbing has been completed. On the whole, it is going to be a feast for Konkani film lovers.
Rajesh Fernandes in Konkani films after ten years
'Padri' Konkani was a hit in Mangaluru more than a decade ago. Film director Rajesh Fernandes also received recognition for it. Later Rajesh Fernandes migrated to Kannada from Konkani. He has returned to Konkani through 'Planning...Devachem' after producing two films in Kannada.
The film has been shot in beautiful surroundings of the coast, Goa, Karwar, Honnavar and Bengaluru. Artistes from the coast and Goa will be seen in the film.
