Udupi, Jul 14: Uttam Nayak (37), son of the late Ramesh Nayak, resident of Nalkur near Brahmavar, breathed his last due to fever at a private hospital in Manipal on Thursday July 13 morning.
Nayak was working as a teacher at Sanganabasava Residential School, Vijayapura, since the last ten years. Two days back, he had visited the primary health centre at Kokkarne where he complained of fever, and obtained medicines from the medical officer there. As the fever did not subside, he approached a private medical practitioner at Hebri. The doctor who examined him, observed that his blood pressure was low. He advised Nayak to get admitted into a private hospital at Manipal. He lost his life at Manipal hospital on Thursday morning.
He was a poet and amateur photographer. Nayak is survived by mother and wife.
Pramod Kumar (30) from Kaushambi in Uttar Pradesh, who was residing in a rented house at Manur near Kota, suffered from acute fever on Tuesday. He went to Kota primary health centre, and at the advice of the medical officer, got admitted into the government hospital at Kundapur. On Wednesday, he got himself discharged, duly informing the doctor that he wanted to visit his hometown.
In the afternoon, he suffered from high fever again and died before he could get admitted into hospital. On the basis of a statement filed by his brother Pradeep Kumar Gihar, a case stands filed at Kota police station.
