Panaji, Jul 12: The women wing of Goa police on Wednesday July 12 booked BJP Goa unit vice-president Anil Hoble along with his wife and son for harassing his daughter-in-law for dowry.
Hoble, his wife Sandhya and son Milind have been booked under Dowry Protection and several sections of Indian Penal Code (IPC).
Women police sub inspector Sandhya Gupta has filed FIR against the three following complaint by Suchitra Shirodkar from Mumbai, whose daughter is married to Milind since 2009 and is having two kids.
All the three are booked under section 3 and 4 of Dowry prevention act, section 498 (detaining), 323 (causing hurt) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of IPC.
The complainant has alleged that Hoble and his family has been demanding huge dowry from them even before the marriage.
She has claimed that Hoble had called them yesterday at 2 am asking them to take back their daughter and because of that they had arrived in Goa at 3 pm only to find her with injury marks on her body.
The complaint alleged that Hoble, his wife and his son had severely assaulted her due to which she had injury marks.
The complainant has said that Hoble threatened to shoot them if they return back with their daughter.
Police have began questioning all the accused.
Amit Palyekar, a lawyer representing Hoble, said that it is a petty matter related to domestic issue which would be solved in a day or two.
He said there was no arrest required of the accused as there is nothing to be recovered.
